Dear Future Sewing Student,Fashion Sewing School is all about student individuality and expression through creating clothing. My goal is to teach students of all levels and abilities proper sewing habits and the effective use of sewing tools. By using such techniques as developing muslin shells and interactive fitting sessions, even beginning students may produce high quality results. I have a diverse background in fit & design which enables me to implement in-depth knowledge into the courses. As founding director, I hope this program inspires you to experience the joy of sewing and the satisfaction of wearing one’s vision.

dStudent reviewsSamantha FurdenI sought after the best fashion designer in Utah- Sophie St. Claire and I did not hesitate to enroll in her sewing classes. Once I was enrolled I learned more than any class in high school and private classes I was taking before. I believe this is the best sewing class in Utah and constantly recommend people who are serious about learning how to sew to enroll. I believe she is such an amazing teacher because she constantly encourages you to learn the material and pushes you to succeed on a high quality level. Fashion Sewing School is well worth every penny.Isabelle Warner
I have taken Sophie's intermediate and advanced sewing courses and had such an amazing experience. along with being an incredible teacher, Sophie teaches you the fine sewing techniques that aren't often taught anymore in fashion schools. I wouldn't be able to sew such professional, fashionable clothing if it weren't for Sophie. She understands the art of sewing and continues to carry on such a precious craft while sharing such valuable knowledge with her students.
I highly recommend Sophie St Claire.Mary Ann HessSophie is a great teacher. She is knowledgeable, skilled, thorough and patient. I would take sewing classes from her every opportunity I had!Grace AmisHer classes are amazing. I've taken many different sewing classes and hers are definitely the most professional. She knows her stuff and is great at teaching it. The quality in her clothing is incredible, and she takes time to make sure you understand the concepts. Her work is amazing, and her teaching is unbeatable. I wouldn't recommend anyone else! She is the best of the best. Literally.Aimee FerrieI am going to say right now, Sophie St. Claire is the perfect solution to learning ANTHING you want to know about clothing construction, fitting and tailoring. I don't know if Utah has seen this kind of talent and skill set that Sophie St. Claire has to offer her students. Our community is very lucky to have her and the wealth of knowledge she brings with her. In the 3 courses I took from her, she taught me tricks of the trade that you can only learn from someone who has worked intensely in the world of couture sewing, costume making abroad, home interior sewing and all the other experiences she brings to the teaching table. The school has an incredible adult curriculum already set up and ready to go. I made sample books that are great to have to refer to at a later time. The lesson she teaches cater to the intermediate and advanced adult students. She shares resources and tricks you can't find anywhere, in books or even YouTube. If you have wanted to learn to sew in the past, this is your chance. She's my favorite local pick. Professional and friendly too! Go ahead. Make the call. You won't regret it.Monet M.
Sophie has an innate way to connect with people and understands how to best teach everyone from beginner to advanced students. I learned how to sew back in high school so I had the beginner sewing down, but there is no way I would have learned half of my sewing knowledge had I never met her.
I was able to use the techniques she learned and passed on while constructing my own wedding gown and many other projects! Even 3 years later, I still get people looking at my wedding photos and video and are just stunned by my dress and even more stunned that I constructed it. I have Sophie to thank for that! She is an amazing seamstress and an amazing teacher. You would not be sorry to take her classes- I'm definitely not!!Lindsey W.Sophie St. Claire is amazing. Her work is flawless. She thinks out every little detail beforehand and really considers what will make the piece more attractive and personal.Chelsea A.
Sophie's classes are very professional and helpful. I could tell she had the experience that comes from sewing for many, many years. It was great to tap that and learn amazing tips. She is very patient when teaching and explains things clearly. She is professional and I would highly recommend this school.Sophie Really knows what she is doing. From teaching all the technical sewing skills to opening up your mind so you can think of making things more creatively. She has a heart of Gold and has a true passion for sharing her passion. The class is small so you get the attention that you need. I am going onto my next course and hope to take every course Sophie St. Claire school has to offer.Ashlee B.Sophie is a wonderful teacher: she makes sure you are doing it right and is patient with her students as they figure things out. I searched almost a year before I found her and have to say it has been worth my money to get the proper training.
Only down side is after going to the first class I now feel like I have to attend all of her classes.
